The Many Colors of Christmas of D3830
December 22, 2008, Makati City
By Pres Alice Lucas, RC Taguig West

This year’s D3830 Christmas party’s theme of “The Many Colors of Christmas,” indeed, made the district’s Yuletide celebration last Dec. 3, 2008 at the SGV Hall of AIM conference Center in Makati, glitter, not only with colors, but with fun and laughter, too.  Many gamely came as Christmas ornaments, wearing Santa hats and head gears bedecked with colorful Christmas trinkets, others in their best holiday costumes.

Highlighting the festivities was the launching of the District Conference (DISCON) which will be held at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel in Pasay City on March 20-21, 2009.  DISCON Chair PP Marty Alvarado and Co-Chair Nenette Aseniero made very impressive audiovisual presentations on why we should attend the DISCON 2009, the most significant annual event of the District.

The program started with the Call to Order by the Centennial Presidents and the 23 host clubs.  It was followed by an ice-breaker team game, which immediately solicited cheers from everyone.  DG Boyet Limon delivered a very inspirational message, particularly wishing everyone the best of the holidays.

After the DISCON Launch presentation was the Parade of 10 Best Costume finalists, which was judged by the Centennial Presidents Vhell Arias, Litay Brunner and Rex Castro.  There were also awardees for Best Individual Costume for Male and Female and Best Group Costume.  It’s a coincidence that the winners of the Best in Male and Female Costume were both from Taguig Rotary Clubs, Rtn. Michel Kazmierczak of Taguig West, as Santa Claus and Pres. Maris Montalvo of Taguig South, as a colorful Christmas tree. Forward Taguig!

Special numbers were rendered by the Stepping Stone Kids, Centennial Presidents and Real Good Presidents followed by “dance-‘til-you-drop” swinging to the music of  Forever Young Band.  The night’s emcees were Bonnie Vergel De Dios, Angie Gonzaga, Fed Sapitan and Baby Bunye.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
