The leadership of RI District 3830 changed hands last night  as 2007-08 District Governor Renato “Ato” Magadia accompanied by his Sharing Presidents turned over the gavel to District Governor Edgardo “Boyet” Limon. The new governor was installed into office as well as his team of Real Good Presidents and Real Good District Officers during the historic handover ceremonies at Hotel Intercon at 5 PM.
 
In a very special way he thanked Governor Ato Magadia and all our past district governors for the tradition of excellence which inspires every governor to reach greater heights of achievement. He, likewise, thanked each and every one present and his family for their unconditional support.

The Handover's theme: " Handog sa Kabataan, Handog sa Kalikasan, Handog sa Kinabukasan" was Governor Boyet's way of  sharing  with Rotarians of D3830 the message of the 2008-09 RI theme, “Make Dreams Real” for the children of the world laying down Rotary’s focus on child mortality and the environment as well as its emphases on areas of concern to achieve maximum results.

He conveyed to Rotarians the following message:

"We are blessed with the opportunity to come together in Rotary and serve with hope and compassion.  I am sure you all joined me today so we can all commit ourselves to being dream-makers. Like all of you, I will not rest easy with simply dreaming. Together we will Make Dreams Real. In fulfilling the dreams of even just one child, we will have expressed gratitude for our God-given talents.  Indeed, Service Above Self makes all of us Rotarians witnesses and trustees of God’s goodness and abundant mercy.

Let  us all leave our mark as workers in the great garden of Rotary service.

I am delighted to have a whole year to work with hundreds of amazing Rotarians in our year of service. I pledge to give the best of myself, and while working with you, to meet the expectations of the communities that we are serving.  We will do our level best to create a better world for the children of the New Generation”
