The Rotary Club of Makati Salcedo is all set to sponsor two new Clubs for the Youth, a Rotaract and an Interact in Southville Foreign University.

An informational meeting was held for the prospective members last July 23, 2008, 1 pm, at the SFU Campus in BF, Las Piñas. District Rotaract Chair Lilibeth De La Cruz and District Rotaract Representative Cathy Gonzales were invited to orient the students. DRC Lilibeth presented Rotary’s programs for the youth while DRR Cathy talked about Rotaract.

Present during the orientation were Real President Edna Gan and IPP Dennis Belmonte from RCM Salcedo and Dean Alfred Milevoi of SFU. Dr. Rodolfo Ibañez, President of Southville University, also dropped by to show his support.

During the orientation, it became apparent that some of the students were still of Interact age. Although they originally intended to put up only a Rotaract Club, RCM Salcedo was more than willing to accommodate them so an Interact Club will also be organized.

The students are very excited to become part of the Rotary family. They are up to the challenge of making dreams real when they become Rotaractors and Interactors soon.
