July 5, 2008, Donation to Street Children - RC Makati Buendia donated P 20,000.00 to the street children under the care of the Association for the Socio Economic Advancement of Pinoys, Inc. (ASAP), an non-government organization that advocates the prevention and eventually end the “street children” phenomenon in the country.
July 13, 2008 Farm Irrigation and Tree Planting - RC Makati Buendia donated a second hand deep well pump to improve the irrigation of farms in Sta. Ana, San Pedro, Pampanga and help its farming communities.
As part of the club’s livelihood program, RCMB officers and members also planted 20 each of fruit-bearing mango, tamarind and guyabano trees in Barangay Sta. Ana not only for their environmental benefits, but also provide livelihood to the community.
July 19, 2008 Donation to Inocencio Magtoto Foundation– RC Makati Buendia donated P25,000 to the Inocencio Magtoto Foundation (IMF) to fund the construction of additional classrooms for special children. Last year, the club adopted IMF, a non-governmental organization in San Fernando, Pampanga who cares for children with various disabilities, to support its needs for food, clothing, books and medicines.
July 19, 2008 Library (Literacy) – RC Makati Buendia donated books and P20,000 to the Sto. Domingo Elementary School in Mexico, Pampanga to fund the purchase of book shelves for the school’s library.
July 19, 2008 Legal Aid Clinic - RC Makati Buendia conducted a Legal Aid Clinic in Gawad Kalinga Concepcion Village, Buayang Bato, Mandaluyong City. Ten RCMB lawyers, namely, Gino Cuison, Bobot Tria, Henry Salazar, Gani Ramos, Shan, JC Aliling, Boni Aranquez, Mon Gonzaga, Vic Lasala, and John Caingat, provided free legal advise to 40 beneficiaries’s concerns mostly about family relations and birth certificates. The club’s free legal aid program also aims to encourage the community residents to settle their disputes amicably and avoid tedious litigation processes to save time, effort and expense.
July 26, 2008 Feeding Program - RC Makati Buendia embarked on its first feeding program project for the benefit of 43 pre-school children with ages 3-6 years old at Gawad Kalinga Concepcion Village, Buayang Bato, Mandaluyong, City. The project’s goal is to provide nourishing meals to help improve the children’s health and well being. RCMB also trained mothers in the preparation of inexpensive but nutritious foods necessary for their children’s health. The feeding program will run from July 26 to May 26, 2008, or for a period of ten months, and the results monitored monthly. RCMB plans to sustain this program on an annual basis. |
