By Rtn Bren Del Rosario, RC Parañaque Metro South

Aimed at strengthening the service partnership between Rotary and the city government, the Rotary Club of Parañaque Metro South (RCPMS) made a courtesy call to Parañaque Mayor Florencio Bernabe Jr. last August 11.  Led by RCPMS President Pol Casale, the club members joined the flag ceremony, which was attended by Mayor Bernabe, the city hall staff and the constituents of Barangay San Antonio, where Pres Pol is also the incumbent Barangay Chairman.

Pres Pol, in his message, expressed RCPMS’s desire to extend help to the city and cited its previous projects such as the library buildings donated to a number of public elementary schools and feeding programs for children of depressed communities, among others.

RCPMS later conferred on Mayor Bernabe a plaque of appreciation for his support and contributions to the realizations of various Rotary environment reservation and protection initiatives, particularly, the Save Parañaque River project, which is one of District 3830’s main thrusts for RY 2008-09 under the leadership of DG Boyet Limon.

Mayor Bernabe graciously welcomed the group in his office and thanked RCPMS for the recognition he received.  Pres Pol, in turn, stated that such activities help Rotarians gain more exposure and understanding of day-to-day operation of the city government.
