Still fresh from the exhilarating week-end visit of Gov Boyet and his team of Real Good Presidents and District Officers, for the Palawan DISTAS, club inductions and beach fellowship, the indefatigable AG Bobby Castro, together with Spouse Angge and Rotarian Polly David, proceeded to the town of Narra in the morning of August 20 to distribute the wheelchairs donated by RC Makati Bel-Air, in partnership with One World Institute.  The wheelchairs were flown in by PAL through the courtesy of Pres Bobby Lim of RC Makati West and turned over to the Palawan clubs by RCMBA’s PP Charo Yu during the DISTAS ceremonies last August 16, 2008.

The Wheelchair Distribution was a joint activity of RC Puerto Princesa, RC Narra, and RC Narra Central.    Pres Rogel Sagad and Pres Manny Tan-Paredes led their respective members to the RC Narra Clubhouse, which was recently christened as the Palawan Rotary Clubs Activity Center with Gov Boyet as the major sponsor.

The Palawan club members’ red, yellow and blue uniforms brought vivid color and lightened an, otherwise, emotionally stirring handover of the wheelchairs to the individual disabled beneficiaries earlier identified by the Narra Municipal Welfare Development Officer.

The service activity ushered a beginning of more joint activities by the Palawan clubs.  With AG Bobby’s boundless energy, support and encouragement, the Palawan Rotarians will undoubtedly make dreams real to our less fortunate but deserving brethren in our beautiful island.
