RCs Hold “Kaloob Kakayahan sa Komunidad” for Vocational Month

In celebration of Rotary International Vocational Month, D3830 Rotary Clubs jointly held the “Kaloob Kakayahan sa Komunidad” at Bgy. Olympia, Makati City last October 13, 2008, which covered livelihood trainings, briefings on micro enterprise and cooperatives, and responsible parenthood.

The participating Rotarians include members and officers of RC Makati Legaspi led by Pres. Ting Almendral, RC Taguig West led by Pres. Alice Lucas, Club Sec. Christine Haines and Treasurer Lorna Yson,  RC Makati Nielsen led by Pres. DeoBC, and RC Makati Rockwell led by Pres. Malou Costelo.  They were assisted by the Interact and Rotaract Clubs of Makati Legaspi, Rotaract Club of Bgy Pitogo, Makati City, Makati City Health Office.
 
 

The livelihood training materials were provided by Taguig West while free chest x-rays were given to 97 beneficiaries courtesy of RC Makati who sent a mobile x-ray unit.  The project was supported by a financial grant from the Rotary Club of Namyang Korea.

Gracing the event were PP Baby Bunye, who came in behalf of Governor Boyet Limon and DCC for Vocational Service Sue Sta Maria.  Bgy. Olympia Chairman Romeo Medina and his council members were also present to support the barangay-wide activity.

For the RGPs and Rotarians present, it was a wonderful time to serve and make dreams real for the less fortunate members of our communities.
