CHRISTMAS is not just giving gifts and holding parties with friends and loved ones.  It is much more meaningful when shared with the less fortunate.  That is the real essence of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.

It is, in this regard, that the Rotary Club of Parañaque Metro South (RCPMS) is now busy preparing “Ikaw, Ako, Ngayong Pasko,” a Yuletide outreach program where club members will celebrate Christmas with the Fourth Estate Elementary School Special Education (SPED) class PWD (persons with disabilities) students in Brgy. San Antonio, Parañaque City on December 10, 2008.  The children, 21 with mental retardation, 12 with hearing impairment, 7 autistic and 4 with cerebral palsy, together with their two teachers and one volunteer, will have fun with the Rotarians.

“This is like hitting two birds with one stone: celebrating Christmas while sharing joy to our less fortunate children.” Real Good President Pol Casale said.  The RCPMS members are excited because this is the first time that they will celebrate Christmas with the PWD students.  The SPED class students, meanwhile, are also looking forward to the party and are preparing for a special presentation.  The Club will provide snacks and distribute gifts and specially made “I love RCPMS, I love Rotary” t-shirts to the children.

This RCPMS Yuletide outreach program will be an uplifting experience for its members, for it is an excellent opportunity to show what Christmas really means.

After the program, RCPMS will have its club Christmas party in the evening at President-Elect Art Cabrera’s residence in Tahanan Village with the theme “Ganito Kami Noon, Ganito Kami Ngayon.” The members are divided into four groups where each will perform special themed numbers relating to the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s.
